Peter Danks rings the Cruiser bell to start AGM proceedings

After the AGM, Norman and Marian Gifford gave Ted Wicks a copy of “The News, Brazil’s only English Language Daily” of Thursday January 11th 1940. This gave an accurate account, with detailed diagrams, of what we now call “The Battle of the River Plate” but called it “The Battle of Montevideo”.
This Newspaper got Ted reminiscing of his time at end of the war in Cartagena, Columbia, on shore leave from another ship, a local dance, romance, marriage, return to UK, exaggerating his naval signals experience of coded messages which got him into civvy street encryption, a return to Bogota, South American oil work, clandestine ...........
It is not for me to fill in details. You’ll have to ask Ted yourself.
