Whilst these lists are as accurate as possible it must be borne in mind that there was a war on and list keeping perhaps was not a priority; lists were handwritten or compiled on typewriters and copied so errors would have been a distinct possibility; many sailors used different forenames and almost all had nicknames that were often listed; crew members often came and went between Commissions.
